Farmerettes score big at officer retreat

by | Jun 22, 2023 | Education, Latest

The 2023-24 Farmersville Farmerettes recently attended a three-day officer camp from Wednesday, May 31 to Friday, June 2 in Galveston.

The camp, hosted by Crowd Pleasers, a dance academy, taught the officers new techniques they can benefit from for future events and competitions.

“This is a three-and-a-half-day intensive camp of dancing and leadership,” said coach Leslie Ellis. “All the girls were challenged by dancing and learning new techniques and competing.”

Besides learning new moves, social officers also competed by presenting different ideas and themes.

Officers scored higher than they had in previous years according to Ellis. They received a 92, a “high gold” score for dance and social officers. While captain and lieutenant received ribbons for outstanding energy and performance.

The end of the semester was the beginning of this year’s events as the Farmerettes were officially invited to participate in Nationals and will begin fundraising soon.
