Farmers stay undefeated, survive Braves’ second half onslaught

The Fightin’ Farmers charge onto the field ahead of their home game with the Community Braves.

What looked like a blowout and leading 35-7 at the half, turned into a different game for the undefeated Farmers.

Behind a couple of interceptions, from Elijah Huggins and Cuddie Fisher, Farmersville jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and a seemingly easy night.

But the second half was a complete reversal for the Braves, starting in the third quarter.

The Farmers potent offense stalled coming out of the break and the Braves scored two touchdowns to trail 35-21 to start the final quarter.

With a just under three minutes in the game, Community pulled within a touchdown after a nine-play drive featuring hard running by the Braves backs.

Farmersville recovered a short kick off, scored a security touchdown and held on for a 41-35 win after a late TD by the Braves.
