Miscues cost Farmersville in loss to Bridgeport

Farmersville (3-1, 0-1) was handed their first district, as well as, season loss by Bridgeport (1-5, 1-1) on Friday night at Bull Memorial Stadium in their District 5-4A clash.

The Farmers trailed the entire the game after Bulls’ running back Cole Pritchard ran it in for a 1-yard touchdown in the first quarter. It was the first of his three scores along with 225 rushing yards on the night. 

Running back Brady Gray had two touchdowns in the loss, but numerous penalties and two fumbles proved to be the difference. 

Despite getting the ball with three minutes to go and trailing 26-21, the Farmers’ offense was stopped on 4th and 10 to seal the game with 36 seconds left.

Farmersville will host Gainesville next week on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
