Farmersville’s police department had what could be described as an up-and-down year fighting crime, according to end-of-year statistics released by Police Chief Marsha Phillips.
The department showed a slight decline in overall calls for service in 2023, logging 5,863 calls compared to 5,877 total calls in 2022. The level of most Tier 1 – or major – crimes was essentially unchanged year over year, Phillips reported. Farmersville reported zero homicides and robberies in 2023 and 2022; assaults totaled 23 in both years.
