COMMERCE – The Farmersville powerlifting teams took turns making their trips to Commerce last week for the opening meets of the season. While the girls took 10th last Thursday in the Tigers Raising the Bar Meet, the boys came out hot, finishing second on Saturday.
For the boys, they were just eight points shy of matching Denison, who won the event with 38 points. Rafe McComack and Diego Capetillo each won their respective weight classes. McComack finished with a total of 1,150 pounds in the 148-pound class, while Capetillo pus up a total of 1,600 pounds in the 242-pound group.
