The Farmersville Lady Farmers concluded the regular season playing their best softball yet, and that continued heading into the opening round of the playoffs.
In the team’s three games last week, one against Trenton and then two more versus Kaufman, the Lady Farmers outscored their opponents 37-2.
The girls wrapped up the regular season with a non-district contest with Trenton on Tuesday, April 23. While that one started off as a pitcher’s duel, Farmersville took a 2-0 lead after the first two innings, only for Trenton to cut their deficit in half going into the bottom of the fifth.
That’s when Farmersville turned on the jets, scoring four runs in the fifth, followed by nine more in the sixth. The game would end via the mercy rule with the Lady Farmers winning 15-1.
From there, the girls opened the postseason with a best-of-three series against Kaufman.
