A committee has been formed to garner support for restoring the historic Welford School and keeping it in its current location.
Plans for a kickoff celebration to restore the historic Welford School, in conjunction with recognizing the Juneteenth holiday, were unveiled at the Tuesday, June 11 Farmersville City Council meeting.
Committee member Kristi Monday said the kickoff event will be held Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 508 S. Hamilton Street, located near the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church parking area.
