The IOOF Farmersville Cemetery Association has been diligently working on beautification efforts for the historic cemetery. Trustees have provided a detailed update on the progress made so far.
Throughout the growing season, the grass is mowed and weeds are trimmed around headstones and curbs every two weeks, with additional maintenance as needed in the winter. Each mowing costs $1,600. Tree trimming and grooming occur every spring and as necessary, thanks to the Collin County Sheriff’s Department’s community assistance program under Sheriff Jim Skinner.
