Work is underway at the J.W. Spain Athletic Complex. Improvements are being made to water drainage around the bullpen areas and new sod will be installed on the fields.

Hoping for cooler weather on the horizon, Farmersville City Council announced the dates of two popular city-wide events that have been successful in the past.

The “Yard of Yards” community yard sale will be held on Sept. 21 and the city-wide cleanup day will be held on Oct 19.

The usual permit fee will be waived by the city for the yard sale event.

Mayor Craig Overstreet urged citizens to take advantage of each event and remarked how the cleanup event could help with code compliance for some residents needing to clean up their property.
