Bend-but-don’t break defense sparks Farmersville

FARMERSVILLE — Senior Drake Grimes recovered a muffed punt by Commerce with less than two minutes remaining in Friday’s ballgame to secure a 31-21 home win for Farmersville from Farmers Stadium.

Sophomore Amare Warren ran for touchdowns of 1 and 9 yards after being inserted at quarterback in the fourth quarter.

Senior Rafe McComack rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown, while junior Gordon Swartz contributed a team-high 116 rushing yards and one score. Farmersville (2-1) finished with 252 rushing yards.

Farmersville is back in action next Friday at 7 p.m. back at home against Wills Point.
