Volleyball roundup: Farmersville sweeps Rains in final preseason match

The Farmersville traveled to Rains on Tuesday for their final preseason match.

It was a successful night for the Lady Farmers, who earned a 3-0 win (25-23, 25-18, 25-17) over the Lady Wildcats.

The first set was tied 23-23, but Farmersville proceeded to rise to the occasion. Senior Bella Holland put the Lady Farmers ahead for good with a kill. On the ensuing point, sophomore Rylie Cottongame added a kill of her own to give Farmersville a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five match.

In the second set, sophomore Breelyn Pollard notched a kill to give Farmersville a 24-18 lead.

In the third set, sophomore Peighton Purser recorded three service aces to open a 12-4 lead for Farmersville.

Farmersville (20-12) begins District 13-4A at 4:30 p.m. Friday against Sunnyvale at Farmersville Arena.
