For the first time since 2018, Farmersville has qualified both its boys and girls cross country teams for the regional meet.

The Farmer boys captured second place in the team standings at Monday’s District 13-4A meet in Wills Point, with 37 points. The Lady Farmers, who amassed 67 points to earn third place, edged Caddo Mills (70) by three points to earn the final team berth in the Region II-4A meet, set for Monday, Oct. 21 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.

Junior Bryan Mujica turned in the top time for the Farmers, running to bronze with a 17:12.61. Sophomore Luke Lair earned sixth overall in 17:48.25. Sophomore Landon Green finished two places behind Lair in eighth overall with an 18:01.29. Junior Miller claimed ninth overall in 18:03.46.

On the girls’ side, Southern Sanders continued her standout freshman season by placing sixth in the district meet in a time of 15:19.41.
