FISD honors veterans in ceremony

by | Nov 14, 2024 | Education, Latest

Tatum students, from left, Miguel Arteaga, Hazel Stover, Ivan Maldonado and Roman Salas welcome local veterans to their school for a special program last week.

Rainy weather caused some adjustments to the morning schedule but did not dampen the spirit of celebrating Veterans Day in Farmersville ISD on Friday, Nov. 8.

Veterans were honored throughout the school district that day since students were not in attendance on Monday, Nov. 11, due to a four-day instructional week. Although the flag-raising ceremony was canceled at Tatum Elementary, students and staff still welcomed attendees in the library to greet classes.
