New, promoted fire personnel introduced

Fire department personnel sworn in during the ceremony to new positions included, from left Matt Jones, Penny Phillips, Steven Stroup, Cody Selsur, Cole Harris and Matt Warren.

Fire Chief Greg Massey swore in several new hires and recognized promotions within the Farmersville Fire Department on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Reminding the group to keep their priorities in order—God, family, and work—Massey said, “What you give to the job is what you will receive in return.”

Opening remarks were also delivered by Mayor Craig Overstreet, City Manager Ben White and retired Assistant Chief of Operations for the McKinney Fire Department Tim Mock.

The following individuals were sworn into their new positions during the ceremony: Matt Jones (fire marshal), Penny Phillips (fire inspector), Cole Harris (captain), Cody Celsur (driver), Steven Stroup (driver) and Matt Warren (driver).
