Farmersville’s code enforcement—or lack thereof—impact fees and the formation of a new tax reinvestment zone were among topics discussed at the Monday, Feb. 3 city council meeting.
During the regular agenda discussion, Mayor Craig Overstreet voiced concerns about the city’s enforcement efforts, calling it “the worst I’ve seen in 32 years,” adding, “between our streets and code enforcement, these are the two areas that need to be brought up to standard.”
He asked for confirmation from other council members, stating that he was speaking on behalf of those who shared his concerns. Councilmembers agreed with his assessment, assuring him he was not “speaking out of turn.”
