For the 26th year, the Farmersville Rotary Club is hosting its annual Bob Tedford Memorial Golf Classic, the club’s only major fundraiser.
This year’s tournament is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, at Wylie’s Woodbridge Golf Course, and the registration deadline is Saturday, April 19.
According to organizers, the proceeds will help fund local scholarships, sponsor Boy Scouts of America, and send young men and women to Camp RYLA, a Rotary leadership program.
The club also supports local public safety departments, nonprofits such as Meals on Wheels, Farmersville Food Pantry and Senior Citizens, as well as Wreaths Across America, Honor Flight DFW, and more.
The tournament will begin at 11:30 a.m. with registration, and a shotgun start is scheduled for 1 p.m.
There will also be a hole-in-one contest featuring a new 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer, sponsored by Tedford Chevrolet.
Mulligans and a closest-to-the-pin contest will also be available. Additional prizes will be awarded.
The driving range and putting green will open at noon.
The tournament will follow a “four-person Florida scramble” format, with teams playing their best ball throughout the round. Individual players will be assigned to teams.
After the round, teams will enjoy a hamburger buffet while scorecards are tallied to determine the winners.
Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.
Tournament sponsorships are still available. Gold-level sponsors are $1,000, which includes four players, a tee box sponsorship, and prominent signage at registration and dinner. Silver sponsors are $650, which includes two players, a tee box sponsorship, and additional signage at registration and dinner. Bronze sponsors are $400, which includes one player, a tee box sponsorship, and signage at registration. Individual players are $140, and hole sponsorships are available for $185.
Directions to Woodbridge Golf Course can be found at wbgolfclub.com or by calling 972-429-5100.
The tournament was named in honor of Bob Tedford, a 32-year Rotarian who focused the club’s efforts on Farmersville youth.
