Newly elected Farmersville City Council members officially began their terms during the council’s regular meeting Monday, May 19, as the city also moved ahead with a major infrastructure project.
Russell Chandler and Tonya Fox, both of whom had previously served in appointed roles, were sworn in after running unopposed in the May general election. Chandler will serve in Place 2, while Fox fills Place 5.
Following the swearing-in, the council reorganized its leadership. Councilmember Mike Henry was unanimously re-elected as mayor pro tem, and Coleman Strickland was chosen as deputy mayor pro tem.
