When Farmersville ISD was conducting its search for its next head boys’ basketball coach, it received interest from the largest high school in the state.

Allen assistant coach Kingsley Akinwole interviewed with Farmersville in April, and his hiring as head coach was approved by Farmersville ISD on May 3.

“It’s exciting how much the community and the school district put into athletics, especially with their new facilities,” he said. “They care about athletics and want to excel. Me being from Allen and then seeing Farmersville, I see a lot of similarities with their community support and their athletics departments.”
