Collin College, Farmersville Campus will host a daylong conference May 30 to help new landowners and small-acre farmers.
A daylong conference aimed at helping new landowners and small-acreage farmers navigate land management and agriculture practices is set for Friday, May 30 in Farmersville.
The 2025 Northeast Texas Small Acreage and New Landowner Conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Collin College Farmersville Campus. The event is a joint effort of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Collin College.
The conference is designed to provide attendees with practical information and resources to support small-scale agricultural operations and rural land ownership in North Texas. Registration is $40 per person and includes meals, access to more than 20 breakout sessions, and five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units (CEUs) for eligible participants.
“The goal of the NETX SANL is to give new landowners a quick view of the processes, resources, and logistics for land management and small farm enterprises in North Texas,” said D. Chad Cummings, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Grayson County.
Topics covered during the conference include Landowner 101, tractors and equipment, sustainable beef management, beekeeping, poultry farming, pest management, and an overview of available agricultural resources in the region.
