Council seats filled through appointments, election

by | Jun 12, 2025 | Latest

The Farmersville City Council has welcomed three new members following recent appointments.

Russ Chandler and Tonya Fox were appointed to Places 2 and 5, respectively, after running unopposed in the May 3, 2025, election.

Additionally, Kristi Mondy was appointed to fill a Place 3 vacancy during the council’s June 2 meeting, completing the city’s leadership. She is expected to be sworn into office on June 16.

A longtime resident, Chandler was initially appointed to fill a Place 2 vacancy in October 2024 and officially retained the seat in the May 2025 election.

Chandler brings a deep connection to the community and extensive experience in materials management and contract negotiations.

Chandler said his primary motivation for seeking office was to provide representation for both citizens and city employees. “They are our most valuable asset as we grow,” he said.
