Farmersville residents could see a significant increase in their property tax rate under the city’s proposed 2025 budget. At the Aug. 18 City Council meeting, Finance Director John Lawrence presented updated budget numbers that balance only by raising the rate from 67 cents per $100 valuation to 83 cents. The proposed 83.6979-cent tax rate includes 60.2933 cents for maintenance and operations and 23.4046 cents for interest and sinking.
