Farmersville volleyball is at its best when the Lady Farmers are aggressive with their serving.

On an afternoon when Farmersville struggled at times with its hitting, the Lady Farmers got the job done behind the service line, posting 19 service aces in a 3-0 win (25-16, 25-10, 25-15) over District 13-4A foe Quinlan Ford last Friday at Farmersville Arena.

Friday’s win came three days after Farmersville (24-9, 1-1) battled in a 25-22, 25-20, 25-21 loss to state-ranked Sunnyvale.

Junior Peighton Purser had 16 kills.

Sophomore Cambrant Donaldson contributed nine kills and had a team-best .500 hitting percentage.

“It was competitive,” head coach Arian May said. “We played really good defense. We were in it the whole time, and the girls are a lot more confident going into the next round against Sunnyvale because they know that they can beat them if we do what we’re supposed to do.”
