Junior outside hitter/middle blocker Peighton Purser was recognized not only for surpassing 1,000 career kills, 500 digs and 200 service aces, but also for breaking the school record for most aces in a season prior to the start of last Friday’s home match for the Farmersville volleyball team against Caddo Mills.

A few minutes later, Purser did all she could to help the Lady Farmers attempt to earn a crucial win over the Lady Foxes.

Yet, for as much as Farmersville battled, Caddo Mills broke open a tight first set against Farmersville en route to a convincing 3-0 District 5-4A volleyball victory (25-22, 25-18, 25-11) at Farmersville Arena.

The win lifted the Foxes to a 6-2 district record, while the Lady Farmers fell to 4-4 and 27-12 overall.

“We have had some trouble getting into the second set after getting off to a hot start, so that’s something we need to work on,” said head coach Arian May. “We tend to lose focus sometimes on the court.”
