City Council recognized Farmersville EDC for the 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award for fire suppression grants.
Farmersville City Council members voiced concerns at the Monday, Oct. 20 regular meeting over purchasing 111 N. Johnson St. as a potential future home for the fire and police departments.
The resolution failed unanimously after comments were made about the cost of renovating the interior of the building, the condition of streets around the location, limited access for emergency vehicles and the lack of potential for expanding the building’s footprint.
Councilmember Russell Chandler said he was initially in favor of the purchase until he toured the interior and realized the extent of improvements needed.
