Work has begun on the widening of U.S. Highway 380 from four lanes to six lanes between Airport Road in McKinney to Boorman Lane (County Road 458) in Princeton.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) expects the $141 million project will be completed in late 2028.
Lane closures and intersection work are being done overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to help prevent traffic backups, said Madison Schein, TxDOT public information officer.
The first closures involve the eastbound right lane of 380 and each side of Beauchamp Boulevard.
Information on the scheduled nightly lane closures is posted on drivetexas.org.
