Farmersville Quilt Guild members honored nine local veterans with custom-made Quilts of Valor during a ceremony held Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Farmersville Baptist Church. The annual presentation, led by guild member and QOV Foundation group leader Kathy Wingo, drew family and friends who gathered to recognize those who served.

“Tonight, we are truly honored as our presentation falls on Veterans Day,” Wingo said. “We gather to honor a few veterans who so valiantly served our country.”

Wingo noted that each quilt was pieced, quilted and bound by guild members. “Each quilt is put together with love, respect and gratitude for those receiving it,” she added.

As each veteran was introduced, guild members shared personal notes about the recipient, and families stepped forward to take photos, making the moment both personal and celebratory.
