Small businesses continue to power the economic engine of North Texas, according to a newly released statewide report that highlights their impact on job creation, revenue, and community stability.
The 2025 Small Business Report, issued by the Texas Comptroller’s Office, shows the Metroplex region — which includes Collin, Dallas, Denton, Grayson, Rockwall, Tarrant and surrounding counties — is home to more than 1 million small businesses, representing 99% of all businesses in the area. Together, these firms employ more than 1.5 million people, or 42.6% of the region’s workforce.
