Christian Smith said the Farmersville boys basketball team doesn’t come out with the intention of dominating every game on the scoreboard.

It’s safe to say the Farmers have done exactly that, as they have won 11 of their first 14 games by at least 20 points.

More so, Smith said it’s about playing with the right energy and focus.

Farmersville definitely came out with the right focus at last week’s home tournament, the Farmersville Hardwood Hoopfest. The state-ranked Farmers, No. 23 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 4A state poll, won all four games, all by double digits, capped off by a dominant 69-35 victory against Frisco Lebanon Trail in the first-place game Saturday.

Smith and Devin Swain Jr. were named to the all-tournament team.
