FISD names campuses, facilities to honor district leaders

by | Dec 24, 2025 | Education, Latest

Farmersville ISD trustees and administrators have approved the naming of several campuses and facilities, honoring individuals whose service and leadership have had a lasting impact on the district and community.

The newly approved names recognize former teachers, coaches, principals and district leaders, reflecting a range of roles that district officials said contributed to the success of Farmersville ISD and its students.

As part of the action, Farmersville Intermediate School will be renamed James and Mary Hemby Elementary School. James Hemby served as a principal in Farmersville ISD for 17 years, and district officials said the naming also honors the Hembys’ shared commitment to education and the community.
