Farmers fall to Quinlan Ford

The Farmersville boys basketball team recently concluded its season.

Farmersville entered its Feb. 17 season finale looking to knock off District 13-4A champion Quinlan Ford. For as much as the Farmers tried, the Panthers proved too much, handing Farmersville a 75-48 loss.

Junior Devin Swain Jr. led the Farmers in scoring with 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting with four rebounds, two blocked shots, one steal and one assist. Sophomore Tavin Smith contributed eight points, five rebounds, five steals and two assists. Seniors Marquis Oshodi and Tatum Swanson, along with sophomore Kayleb Cuellar, each finished with five points. Senior Ethan Stone, junior Jeremiah Decker and sophomore Colt Guinn had four points each.

Farmersville shot 35% from the field on 18-of-51 shooting and committed 23 turnovers.

The Farmers finished with a 23-8 record for their first winning season since 2012-13, when they went 28-5.

Farmersville won its home tournament, captured first place in its division at the Allen In-N-Out Tournament and finished second at a tournament in Caddo Mills.
