Primary voting ends:  Election Day set for March 3

by | Feb 26, 2026 | Area news, Latest, Uncategorized

Early voting remains underway in Collin County for the Republican and Democratic primary elections through Friday, Feb. 27, with Election Day scheduled for Tuesday, March 3. On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Collin County voters may cast ballots at any polling location in the county, regardless of their city of residence. That means voters can choose the location most convenient to them — whether near home, work or along their commute.

Primary elections determine which candidates will represent their respective political parties in the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election. If no candidate receives a majority of the vote in a primary contest, a runoff election will be held Tuesday, May 26.

This year’s primary ballot includes statewide offices, all 150 seats in the Texas House of Representatives, 16 Texas Senate positions and various county offices. At the federal level, voters will select party nominees for all 38 of Texas’ U.S. House seats and the U.S. Senate seat currently held by John Cornyn.
