The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) recently announced its all-state academic teams for winter sports.

Student-athletes from Farmersville were selected to the prestigious list.

Farmersville had three female soccer players selected to the all-state honorable-mention team: senior midfielder Natalie Taylor, senior midfielder Alexa Patino and senior goalkeeper Zoey Mann.

Senior guard Ethan Stone, senior forward Jaxon Donaldson and senior forward/guard Tatum Swanson from Farmersville’s boys basketball team landed on the honorable-mention all-state team.

Taylor was an offensive standout for the Lady Farmers soccer team, having scored 33 goals as a senior and 77 over the last three seasons. She will compete in college for the University of Texas at Corpus Christi.

Mann returned with a vengeance as goalkeeper for the Farmersville girls soccer team after injuries derailed her junior season, while Patino made a successful transition back to defense after playing goalkeeper last year.

Meanwhile, Stone, Donaldson and Swanson helped lead the Farmersville boys basketball team to a 23-8 record for the Farmers’ first season with a winning record since 2012-13. Stone averaged 2.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Donaldson averaged 1.2 points in 21 games while Swanson appeared in 20 games and averaged 1.3 points.
