With the search for a new city manager remaining a top priority, City Council spent portions of two recent meetings in executive session evaluating candidates for the position.

During a special called meeting May 15, three candidates were interviewed and received a tour of the city. Prior to the conclusion of the Monday, May 18 regular meeting, the city manager position was again discussed in closed session.

The meeting included the swearing-in of reelected council members, updates on fire hydrants and the announcement that the annual Old Time Saturday celebration will be suspended for 2026.

Certificates of Election were presented to Coleman Strickland, Place 1, and Kristi Mondy, Place 3, following their unopposed reelection bids. Both will serve three-year terms, with Mondy beginning her first full term on the council.
