ESD board preparing FY27 budget

Commissioners of Collin County Emergency Services District No. 1 are considering three possible tax rates to fund firefighting in the 75.5 square miles of unincorporated county land in the district. 

During the board’s Tuesday, May 26, meeting, ESD Commissioner Linda Backlund outlined anticipated expenditures and the revenue that would be derived from three tax rates: 10 cents per $100 of a property’s taxable appraised value, 8 cents per $100 valuation and 7.5 cents per $100 valuation.

In all cases she used the certified estimated tax value of just under $13.5 billion dollars provided by Collin Central Appraisal District (CCAD).
