Farmersville City Council voted Monday to postpone action on a proposed zoning amendment for convenience stores with fueling stations, while also beginning discussions on the city’s fiscal year 2026-27 budget and potential property tax rate ahead of budget adoption.
Following public comment and approval of the consent agenda and informational items, the council held a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance that would establish special requirements for convenience stores with fueling stations.
Bryan Wood, the city’s planning and development services director, explained the amendment would limit intersections to no more than two convenience stores with fueling stations. Any additional stores at the same intersection would require approval through a special use permit.
