Farmersville City Council addressed emergency services, infrastructure improvements and the city’s proposed 2026-27 budget and tax rate during its Aug. 17 meeting, approving several agreements while continuing discussions over future fire service funding.
Proceedings for the latest session began with several residents speaking during public comment and a focus on the city’s proposed interlocal agreement with Collin County Emergency Services District No. 1.
Residents urged the council to work through concerns surrounding the agreement, citing issues including city and property taxes, priority fire services for the community and other matters.
