Troubadour Series brings talent to historic downtown

Nearly 40 years in the music business have given Mike Schikora plenty of connections — and now he is using them to bring a different kind of live music experience to downtown Farmersville.

Schikora, a musician and songwriter who released his fourth album in 2024, is the organizer behind the North Texas Troubadour Concert Series, a series featuring established Texas and regional artists performing at the Farmersville Music Hall.

The series grew out of concerts Schikora began hosting in 2024 at Fine Arts on Main. When the venue closed, a friend encouraged him to apply for a Farmersville 4B grant and revive the shows with the city’s support.
