by | Aug 27, 2026 | Area news, Latest

Collin County commissioners are weighing a range of spending and property tax options as they work toward adopting the county’s fiscal 2027 budget.

The county’s recommended General Fund budget is $318.25 million, compared with $325.06 million in the fiscal 2026 adopted budget. The recommended figure excludes one-time expenditures included in the previous year’s budget.

The spending total could increase significantly if commissioners approve additional requests. The presentation shows $9.57 million in supported requests, $8.42 million in salary options and $6.95 million in neutral requests. With all of those options included, General Fund expenditures could reach $384.64 million.
