The Farmersville Lady Farmers overcame a determined Sunnyvale Lady Raiders team, showing a never-say-die attitude to secure a key District 13-4A volleyball victory at Farmersville Arena.

Nearly every set was tightly contested, and the teams traded momentum throughout the match. In the end, Farmersville prevailed 25-22, 10-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13.

“It was a good game and a good experience for us,” said Farmersville head coach Arian May. “I tell the girls all the time, you have to take advantage of the moment because you never know what is going to happen.”

The victory provided some revenge after the teams’ previous meeting, when Farmersville took an early lead but couldn’t hold on for the win.

It also marked Farmersville’s first victory over Sunnyvale in four years, dating to Oct. 4, 2022, and snapped a seven-match losing streak against its district rival.

“It’s nice to finally finish one after leading the first two games last time and not getting the win,” May said.

The dramatic victory improved the Lady Farmers to 28-11 overall and 5-2 in District 13-4A.

“We have to keep doing our part, but if we keep winning, we’re in good shape for the playoffs,” May said.
