Farmersville won their first district game against Wills Point 44-14 and are hoping to keep their momentum when they host Community Friday, Oct. 29. The game has playoff implications, with the winner clinching the fourth seed in the district.

Here are three keys to a Farmers victory over the Braves.

1. Run through Brady Tidwell and Brady Gray

In their victory over Wills Point, Farmersville thrived thanks to their rushing attack. The Farmers finished with 258 rushing yards on 31 carries, averaging 8.3 yards per attempt. Tidwell and Gray combined for 199 rushing yards and five touchdown on 25 carries.

Farmers coach Randy Barnes credited the offense for being able to operate at whatever speed required against Wills Point. That same dual-threat ability will be needed against a smart and physical Community defense. Last year, the Braves were able to shut down Farmersville’s offensive attack.
