Lee given all-star game nomination

by | Jul 7, 2022 | Latest, Sports

Farmersville’s Angie Lee was one of 24 players selected in classes 1A-4A to compete in the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Representing the red team, Lee will compete in the game on July 13 at Arlington Martin High School. The rising senior was named the District 13-4A MVP last season, leading the team with 433 kills and 112 blocks in the regular season, leading the Lady Farmers to a fifth straight district title and a 40-3 record.

For Farmersville volleyball coach Harold Davis, it’s the work ethic that sets Lee apart from the players across the state.

“It’s unbelievable the work she’s put in to achieve this,” Davis said. “She moved in her freshman year and had never played volleyball before. To work as hard as she has worked and now is an all-star and earning a full-ride scholarship to a Division I school. I don’t think anyone can take away the amount of work and passion she’s put into volleyball.”

Lee committed to a scholarship offer from LSU for the class of 2023. As she leads the team into her senior season and prepares for the next level, coach Davis said she can be a great player and leader in Baton Rouge, LA.

“She’s number three in her class and she likes challenges,” Davis said. “She’s going to go to college and even if there are players there better than her to start, I’m predicting she’ll start by at least her sophomore year. She’s going to outwork everyone there.”
