Farmersville 3 keys to defeating Eustace

by | Aug 25, 2022 | Latest, Sports

It’s the beginning of a new year for the Farmersville Farmers, featuring several changes in the program.

The Farmers return 14 starters from the 2021 season but feature a new coach and a new approach to playing the game. The new school year begins with a long road trip, as the team takes on Eustace this Friday, Aug. 26. In what should be an exciting game between the 4A and 3A schools, they’ll want to get off to a strong start in week one.

Here are the three keys to Farmersville defeating Eustace.

1. Win on the outside

Farmersville is welcoming new starting quarterback Caden Norman into the fold but sees plenty of returning faces in the passing attack. With Colton Harbin, Jeralin Craddock and AJ Blake all in the fold, it’s necessary they help make life easy for their quarterback.

Eustace returns 14 starters to their team like the Farmers, but most of their returning players are on the line of scrimmage. With their top running back, wide receiver and defensive back all graduating from last season’s team, it could be an opportunity for the Farmers to go after an inexperienced team on the outside.

The Farmers showed a lot of explosiveness in their offense last season, averaging 32.4 points per game. With the skill position players at their disposal, they should find success against the Eustace defense.
