Citizen complaints, zoning change heard at council

The Farmersville City Council has received an earful from residents in outlying areas who said they are unhappy with the city’s expansion of the extraterritorial jurisdiction.

The council, convening its regular April 25 meeting at City Hall, welcomed a roomful of residents, mostly from the Merit and Celeste areas, who complained about a two-part ballot measure set for the May 6 election; Proposition 1 would create a Municipal Development District in Farmersville, while Proposition 2 would disband the city’s Community Development board (4B). Voters must approve both measures for the MDD to become law.
