South Lake Park recommendations revealed at last week’s meeting included additional parking spaces, boat ramp and trailer parking, parking closer to the pavilion and playground, equestrian facilities for horseback riding on trails, trail access to North Lake and expanding the existing trail.

A concept plan for the future of parks was shared by Kimley-Horn engineering firm with representatives from Farmersville city council, 4B economic development board and city parks board on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The 23-page draft of a “Parks Master Plan” included feedback from the community regarding suggestions to improve the city’s five parks as well as the Chaparral Trail.
