Prior to her first workout with Farmersville ISD strength and conditioning coach Adrian Briones in the middle of June, Brittany Torres hadn’t worked out in 10 years.

Torres, who is the district registrar and has been working for Farmersville ISD since February 2021, received an email from Briones about the workouts a few months ago. The email stated workouts were for all fitness levels, including beginner and intermediate. However, she wasn’t feeling 100 percent comfortable about working out, especially in a large-group setting.

Those prevailing thoughts had Torres initially worried about the workouts, but she told herself to give it a try.

Asked what she wanted to get out of the workouts, it was to improve her core. Torres has given birth to three kids, and all three times has had a C-section. What was more of concern for Torres was the struggle to perform just one sit-up.

After one month of doing the workouts, she is no longer drained of energy at the beginning or middle of a session.

“Coach AB is intense, but he wants you to be better,” Torres said. “He just pushes me as best as I can.”
