Farmersville’s perfect 11-0 start to the 2026 season has earned the Lady Farmers the No. 2 ranking in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s Class 4A state poll, which was released on Monday.
Wimberley is ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, followed by Farmersville at No. 2, Paris North Lamar at No. 3, Bellville at No. 4 and Lindale at No. 5.
After defeating Pottsboro in three sets and Pottsboro in four sets during its Aug. 11 season opener, Farmersville won all nine matches at last weekend’s Central Heights Tournament, including a victory over Class 3A’s No. 3 Central Heights in the championship match Saturday.
Senior outside hitter Peighton Purser was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and senior libero Isabella Lopez and senior setter Breelynn Pollard were named to the all-tournament team.
Farmersville is back on the road tonight at Lindsay and will open play in its home tournament, the Top of Texas Tournament, Thursday at Farmersville Arena.
