Classic cars, custom builds and hot rods will take over Farmersville’s historic red brick streets Saturday, Sept. 5, as Cops N’ Rodders returns to downtown.

The annual car show, hosted by the Farmersville Police Association, will run from noon to 4 p.m. along McKinney Street and the downtown square, bringing together car enthusiasts, vendors, sponsors and spectators while raising money for community programs.

Assistant Police Chief Frank Gonzalez, who continues to lead the event, said organizers are expecting more than 140 entries this year. As of late August, approximately 45 vehicles had preregistered, but Gonzalez said historically, a large percentage of participants sign up the day of the show.

“The event has grown tremendously, and we are excited to see it continue to build momentum each year,” Gonzalez said. “Between our sponsors, vendors, participants, volunteers, and the support from our community, it has become a great event that we are proud to be a part of.”

Show car setup begins at 9:30 a.m. Participants who want to park with friends or members of a car club should arrive together because spaces fill quickly and saving spots is not permitted.

Registration is $25, with preregistration available through Car Show Pro.

This year’s show will feature approximately 51 awards, including two unique light-up awards. The custom trophies have become a hallmark of Cops N’ Rodders, which had grown to 45 award categories by last year. Gonzalez said organizers continue to put considerable thought into making both the awards and the overall experience memorable for participants.

The Turner Group with Keller Williams in Rockwall returns as the presenting/title sponsor after supporting the show last year.

Organizers also expanded sponsorship opportunities for 2026, including a new Supercharged Level directly below the title sponsorship. The two available spots were filled by Kodiak Fire Protection and longtime supporter Rusty’s Bodywerks, which Gonzalez said has been involved with the show since its beginning.

While the cars are the attraction, proceeds from the show allow the Farmersville Police Association to give back throughout the year.

“The funds raised through the car show are used to support a variety of community projects and initiatives throughout Farmersville,” Gonzalez said. “Our goal is to give back to the community and assist residents, students, and local organizations whenever a need arises.”

Those efforts have included providing flowers to local mothers on Mother’s Day through the association’s Flower Patrol, purchasing window air-conditioning units for residents in need and helping residents pay for necessary prescription medications.

Funds also have supported graduating high school seniors, back-to-school assistance and backpack giveaways, student pizza lunches and Farmersville library summer programs.

Sometimes, the assistance addresses an unexpected and immediate need. Gonzalez said the association has helped residents and travelers in emergencies, including purchasing tires for stranded motorists when circumstances warranted.

The show has been hosted by the Farmersville Police Association since 2018. Along with the vehicle displays and awards, visitors can enjoy live music, food and vendors throughout the afternoon.
