Collin County adopts first tax rate increase in years

Collin County adopted a combined property tax rate of $0.151414 per $100 of assessed value for fiscal year 2027, a 1.39% increase from the county’s adopted rate of $0.149343 for fiscal year 2026.

The rate was presented and adopted Sept. 14 as Commissioners Court completed its annual budget and property tax process.

The adopted rate consists of a $0.109564 maintenance and operations rate and a $0.041850 debt service rate. The maintenance and operations portion increased 1.97% from the FY 2026 rate of $0.107452, while the debt service rate decreased 0.10% from $0.041891.
