Volunteers add local touch to DFW art installation

Around a table inside the Farmersville Heritage Museum, 10 local volunteers carefully assembled colorful aluminum flowers and stems under the direction of Dallas artist Jen Rose.

By February, their handiwork is expected to be hanging above travelers inside DFW International Airport.

The Sept. 24 gathering gave Farmersville residents a small but tangible role in creating “Prairie Haven,” Rose’s monumental, suspended artwork inspired by the Blackland Prairie and commissioned for DFW Airport’s renovated Terminal C.
