Letter to the Editor – Farmersville Food Pantry

by | Jan 21, 2016 | Opinion, Uncategorized

Dear Editor,

In the newspaper two weeks ago, the Farmersville Outreach Alliance food pantry wrote a “thank you” letter to all who had worked with us and assisted us during the holidays. We failed to include at least two names and if we have forgotten anyone else, we sincerely apologize.

The “ArkTex Good Sams” RV Club, represented to us by Alan Meguire, donated a large amount of food items as well as a gift card to the food pantry. Mr. Meguire also helped to deliver and unload the grocery items in very cold and very wet weather. It was very much appreciated!

We also failed to mention our Mayor Joe Helmberger who so kindly picked up all of the donated groceries from Brookshire’s food drive. He then most graciously stored them for us, boxed it all for us, and finally most joyously delivered all of it to the food pantry and helped to unload it all!  It might be hard to understand, but all of the above mentioned people make a great impact not only on the food pantry volunteers, but on the whole community of Farmersville.

We thank you all!

Farmersville Outreach Alliance Food Pantry,

Submitted by pantry volunteer Judy Brandon
